hope someone can help ?

My dad has a mazda 6 & the alarm keeps on going of for no reason.
Mazda have looked at it & say there has been some problems with the 6's alarm system but they do not know what is to blame.
they checked his alarm out & say there is nothing wrong with it, My dad asked them to put a different alarm in his car, but the guy at the dealershp said that this was not possible as the alarm was built into the car, & that the existing alarm would not allow a seperate alarm to be fitted.
Is this ture or not ? I suspect it is not true.

Yes it is tue about that the alarm system is built into the car. I am not sure about replacement but tell your dad to check his manual. There is alot of things that could set of the alarm. it could be at the door, trunk, weels, hood, windows, and a few other. This is all the places that the alarm has sensors on the car. U might also want to check his remote(keyless entry). The panic button might have a fault in it. Tell him to ask the dealer for a new one. they should give a one for free.

I had the same problem. The alarm system would activate if i walked past the car or if my mobile rang whilst standing by the car. Normally in the middle of the night!

The main dealer has just resolved by changing the interior sensors.
