Default RX-8 performance mods

Anybody have any reccomendations for aftermarket performance parts for an '04 or '05 RX-8?
I'm thinking a magnaflow or hkscat-back exhaust and an aem cold air intake. Are these dependable brands? If not, please reccomend better brands and/or parts ideas.

Mods depend on ur needs... or rather ur wants... My first beef with the stock RX8 was that its too quiet... I could barely hear the motor wind up.. so, i went to youtube, typed in "RX8 Exhausts" and listend to all the 8s that ONLY had exhausts on them... Dont listen to ones with intakes or removed catalytic converters, cuz that will change the sound... I went with the HKS Hi-Power single sided one... It has a REAL deep sound to it, and it doesnt sound like a steroid injected bumblebee in a can.. It all depends on ur taste... HKS is a well known brand, and its the only one i found that has a real rumble to it... AEM is the only legit company i have found that makes TRUE cold air intakes for the RX8... Alot of companies(Injen, greddy, hks, K&N) all make short ram intakes for the 8, but if you arent goin cold air, dont bother... SRIs are similar to the stock air box, just a bigger filter...Sure they are less restrictive, but they are also pullin in air from the HOT engine compartment, and the stocker has a lil advantage with the colder air...
