Default Windshield problem

I have a 2006 Mazda Miata, Just yesterday I saw a crack in the windshield, starts under one wiper blade comes up like 6 inches over a foot or so and down ending under the other wiper blade like a half moon. There are no chips form rock or anything. Do you think this is a defective windshield? Have you ever heard of something like this happening? Thanks Dave

I would take it back to the dealer and show them.. If there are no visible signs of damage that window might have been defective.
get a free replacement. Never heard of it before myself, but that don't mean it hasn't happned before right...

gl..

Since windshields these days are glued in and become an integral part of the body structure, it's entirely possible that twisting in the frame, such as hitting a large pothole can do, will cause the glass itself to crack asyoudescribe... especially when there is no roof structure (Miata/MX-5) to help support it and add strength.

It may or may not be covered. If worse comes to worse and Mazda won't cover it for some reason there's always insurance?
