I have a rattling sound coming from my drivers side front dash - seems to be coming from in and around the instrument panel. can only hear it when the car is moving (obviously) but rattling continues whether or not my foot is on the gas/brake or whatever. The rougher the road, the loader the rattle is. My guess is something is loose in there, but I have no idea what. Thought that maybe it was a loose panel but pushing on the panels doesnt seem to stop the noise any.Any suggestions?

 

There seems to be a number of these issues w/Mazdas and especially the Speeds. I've read of several owners that complained about on rattle or noise coming form the dashboard on this forum alone! Proto's seem to develop that problem later in life too?
Unfortunately, in most cases that kind of problem can only be diagnosed by trial and error.If you can't get satisfaction from your dealer (the car is still under warranty, I'm sure) you may just have to dig around in there and see foryourself.It ain't easy and it ain't fun so I'd see what the dealer can do with it first.
