does every1's mazda does this now since it isn't new any more or did i mess something up. When i shift it feels like there is something in the middle of the gear box, the stick doesn't move smoothly as it did before it only moves smooth when the car isnt moving, you can say the stick sticks when i shift ...what happened here.

i auto-x often and im happy with the feel of my shifter. my shifter is notchy, but gear transitions are predictable and simple to accomplish. when engaging the clutch to change gears, the shifter seems to know what gear to be in next.

anyone else have trouble shifting smoothly with the 2.3? it seems lik eu have to ride the clutch on almost every shift

well my car was shifting real nice but now it feels sticky like a rock is stuck in between ...there is a jerk in the STICK while shifting but no jerk in the car (since i shift right).....is the car breaking itself in....car is about a week old with 600 miles on it so far.

Try changing the tranny fluid to synthetic... lighter weight (75w90) is better, believe me.I've made the mistake of using the heavier 75w-140. BTW: Our trannies take 3 qts.
