Default Oil Change Question

Hello everyone, im new to the site and new to owning a Mazda. Im pretty good with cars and like to work on them myself but I ran into a problem. I go to change my oil for the first time in my 6 (it's a 4 cylinder) and realize that it has the canister type filter. I have heard about them before but never used one. So my question is, where exactly do the O-rings go on the filter housing and all? I have an idea but it looks like there are a couple places where they could go. Pictures would be very helpful. Thanks

Whe you change the oil you will se exactly where the o-rings go. The large one is on the bottom of the canister and the small on on the set screw.

Actually, the large o-ring goes on the top of the cansiter... the engine, or big side.
That plug in to bottom plug/drain is made ofverysoft aluminum, as I found out the hard way, and strips easily. The small o-ring goes there.
But as Yank07 describes it, it becomes pretty self-explanatory once the filter housing is off and in your hands.
Remember to oil the o-rings before re-installing the filter housing.
