Does anyone know what size speakers fit the front and rear doors of the '06 model? I have seen them listed as both 5 1/4" and 6 x 8". I want to upgrade the stock ones but I don't want to take the doors apart twice. Also, are there any special concerns I need to consider as I choose a speaker (like mounting depth, for example)? I am also concerned about using the factory tweeters (on the sail panels) - I don't know if it would be best to just disconnect them and buy a coaxial speaker to replace the OEM, or find a woof / mid speaker for the door and continue to use the OEM tweeter. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

for the speaker size I have founf that by checking thru crutchfield electronics they can let you know what the size, the sizes you listed seemed right since they make an adapter to use the 6"x8" speaker, and mounting depth should not be of concern, unless your new speaker has an extra large magnet. for the tweeter, I would probably replace with an aftermarket, if you are going to replace the door speakers as well. go with a component set of dual voice coil door speakers and tweets. hope this helps you out.

I was told 6.5 would fit. That's what I bought anyways....now I've went to this website, crutchfield.com and they're saying 5 1/4. I'm confused!

you know what, i've had the same exact problem. i dunno why the website says that both the 6 1/2 speakers as well as the 5 1/4 speakers will both fit. the speakers i would like to purchase are the 5 1/4 because they handle much better than their competitors. i would go with infinity kappas, they are very nice (both bass and high end quality).
