One of my work mates has a 02 P5 like mine. We were just talking about timing belts and that this was my second in my P5. Well, he didn't change his in time and he gernaded his motor. Belt went, bent all the valves whicj one or two of them went thru the piston the a piston busted loose. This is what he told everyone at work. I will call him tomorrow, but I know he is asking everyone at work if they know where he can get a morot from.

Any tips leads or help would be great....

Well Jack came in to work today.... Driving his wifes car. He had his P5 towed to a shop and he told them not to worry anout trying to fix it. He got his use out of it and was done. I wish he would have called me. He listed it last night on craig's list at 10PM and it was sold by 7am for $1000.00. He stopped off at the shop to meet the buyer and the mechanis decided to open her up and see what happened.

All the stuff above was built up rumors at work. What Jack saw was that the belt snapped and all the valves were either broken or bent. The broken pieces screwed up the pistons and almost all the walls were screwed.

He told me he had never changed out the timing belt. (DUMMY) He had 168k on one belt. I would have took it off his hands and that would have been a ideal engine mod ride. Oh well. Thanx for reading....

Mazdas used to have positive clearance engines, i.e a max. up piston couldn't clout a max. down valve.
I wouldn't even touch a a negative clearance engine unless the cams were chain rather than belt driven.
