hi everyone,
i have a 1994 mazda mx-3 1.8 v6, recently i saw one engine from the e-bay, it was 1995 mazda mx-6 2.5 v6 engine, does anyone know that how much it cost for the convertion fees and does the mazda mx-6 engine fit to mx-3 gearbox? thanks a lot...

Are you sure you have a 1.8L V6 (and not a 1.8L I4)

Mazda did in fact have a small 1.8l V6 in the MX-3 for the few short years they were in production called the K8 engine. What a blast of a rocket they were to drive with the 5-speed manual trans. A shame they did not last longer than 4 years on the Mazda lineup.
Do not know what kind of cost you would be looking at to convert to the 2.5l KL engine but will probably depend most on how good of a conversion is done. They should however mate up to the trans ok as both V6 models shared the same G25M-R manual transmissions.

That's killer. Those would be like motorcycle sized pistons/connecting rods. I bet it could sound mean as hell with a build-up and revved up quick.

Yea, the pistons are just under three inches in diameter. Really tiny guys at least in comparison to the ones in my .040 over dodge 440. There is a similar conversion car running around here but was a really crappy install and it never runs right. They should have left well enough alone in that case.

I actually did this. I'm just in the tuning stages right now. I had a japanese KLZE imported for about $14-1600 I can't quite remember right now. Replaced the timing belt and waterpump for about $200 before the install, just so much easier with the engine on a bench. It moves like a scared rabbit now, just idles like a bag of crap. I'm thinking it's the TPS, anyone have any other ideas?
