Are the volume knobs on these stereos a frequent break item? Dealer says they're $15 each!! Ouch.
The stereo in my ES is the 6-CD changer + AM/FM/Cassette.
Thanks
EDIT: Bought the car yesterday and my salesman came up with another knob today.

With no replies, I guess that this is not a common weak point.

Have seen a few knobs breaking on various models mmiller2002 but not any number being specific to Tribute. A broken knob should be covered under the normal warranty anyway. We always do.

That may be so if I didn't buy the car with 71K miles. Out of warranty. The only thing left in warranty is probably the catalytic converter.

Ya Ya... Flimsy!! The volume knobbroke on my 2004 so I pulled off the other one and moved it over. Then that broke too.
I think I can get some generic replacements from a mobile audio store. Not sure yet!!!
Cheers!
