First of all I will point out the many defects of my truck, first of all it has "bad valve guides" so it leaks oil into the cylinders already, secondly I believe that my exhaust manifold is clogged with some hardened oil residue or something because I had to disconnect my EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation) and run it out down to the ground so that it would have enough exhaust flow to go over 2000RPM, and now my newest $!@# up....

Just within the last two days it began to open full throttle whenever I came around or over 2000 RPM or it could be whenever I throttle it to that point. Could this be a faulty throttle? do you think that it is the throttle cable or a defect in the carb itself?

sounds like a throttle cable problem. but it could also be the carb.......check the throttle cable and all linkage first, and then move on the carb, always remember, start small and work your way up the ladder till you find the right fix. even if it does still cost quite a bit, you at least know that much more about the truck.
