Default My problem 6!

Has anybody had as many problems as I have had with their 6?? So far I have had to have a new driver's side seat heater,a new control module for the cooling fan, a new blower motor, the door handle on the inside of the car on passenger side came off and today with 30,000 miles on it I dropped it off at the dealership and they tell me that I need a whole new transmission! I bought the 6 because I always heard such good things about Mazda...now I am wondering what did I get myself into???

i think what you got here is a lemon. there are plenty of 3,5, and 6's here and never seen any in the shop other than for accidents(not car fault) and routine maintainence

We purchased ourson a 2006 Mazda6 and it now has53K miles and the transmission just went out. We also thought Mazda was a good car. Wrong! I know my son has put a lot of miles on pretty quickly. But after reading blogs, I am realizing that a lot of transmissions are going out of these Mazda!!So far, I am aware of three other Mazda
s that have had their transmission gowhen reaching 30, 60, 75Kand mine at 53K. Not a very good record and I have only been on the internet for a few minutes researching! Of course the warranty expired at 50K!

I have an 2004 M6S, so far I have had a cracked manifold, a new blower motor put in, and replaced the battery. All but the battery was covered by the warranty, I am at 60,00 miles and about to put a tranny cooler on it to hopefully extend the life of my transmission.

My passenger side door light falls out everytime someone closes the passenger door too.

I purchased my 6 with 75 miles on it, brand new! I've had my break light come on; a tire blow (Pirellis and I am not a fast driver I bought my car forits name and what it represented WISDOM LOL); there is adhesive STILL on the car; interior pieces of plastic pop off; the rear seatbelts are non-regulation standard; e.g. I can buckle the seatbelt while Im sitting but then turn my whole body around so Im facing the rear window even though the belt is still latched. This is due to the placement on the restrictor ( that little plastic piece embedded in the setbelt which keeps the latch from sliding down so far), which is in the crack of the seat. My right side rearview mirror has a hairline crack in it which the dealer istrying to convince me is a 3D efffect... I could go on and on and on... When I've approached the company they have been insulting, derogatory, passive, you name it. I'm a researcher, educator, andan analyst and I have been appalled at the quality of craftmanship of the vehicle and the services I've received.

I had an 03 and I had a few small minor problems with it.. but usually if you take it to the dealer they will fix it if it is covered under warranty, but my husband bought one that had the has leak and took it back to buy the mazdaspeed protege. He had more problems with that!!!!!
If you go to mazda6tech.com. you can look up anything about the car.. warranty recalls, problems, whatever.. print up the problem, take it to the dealer and show them. They should fix it then.. Its not just the 6- I know TONS of people with 6's and have no probs what so ever. All cars have their lemons.. Dont lose faith!!!

Sent e-mails all the way to Japan. The companyappears to be stuckin the phase of "we need to make an appointment for you to come in for an inspection". I've had these problems since I first purchased the car.Been to 3 Dealers in 2 different States. Next Friday I have another appointment for an inspection. The beaklight, tire, and seatbelt thingare reallly my main concerns. Thank you for the suggestion to go to http://forum.mazda6tech.com/about2257.html. Not exactly sure how to sign in for the forum, if you can send me info on this I'd really appreciate it. As a whole I believe this model of car was made for me, it sooo fits my personality. I just think I got a bad car and something needs to be done about it. Look whatI found. Imagine this.

Posted: Mon Dec 20, 2004 4:10 pm Post subject: Recall: 2004 MAZDA6 Rear Seat Belt Recall 2604L

[hr]

On certain 2004 MAZDA6 vehicles, the right and/or left rear seat belt(s) may not lock properly due to missing retaining pins on the housing. The seat belt retractor locking mechanism may malfunction, increasing the risk of death or serious injury to the rear seat passengers in the event of a crash. Passengers should not sit and child seats should not be used in the right or left rear seats until this defect has been corrected.

There is only a very small number of vehicles affected by this campaign (about 190 vehicles.) The owners of affected vehicles will be notified by first class mail ...

Knock on wood I have had very good luck with my mazda. No complaints. Just usually maintanence. I have about 48500 miles on my mazda, but I also purchased a longer warranty so it will be covered until 100,000. Cost me 999.99 at Tasca Mazda. Sounds like it may be a good investment! Good luck with all the issues and please keep us informed. Also remember every car has its problems and if there are only a few people with these problems out of all the mazda 6's sold (remember this was the fastest selling mazda ever) it still is good. You cant look at it as how many people are complaining, but as a ratio of how many have been sold in total...
