So far I like my car... But let start an annoyancesthread, and see if anyone can come up with solutions if any!

1) Navigation options dissapear while driving.

2)Doors do not automatically lock or unlock whendrive in the car.

3) Window buttonsin a bad spot, should be closer.(nothing can be done).

4) When the headlights are set to auto, why does the car buz when the lights are on? (set to auto)

The one thing that is bothering me as of now is the drivers side mirror vibrates going down the road and it makes things a little blurry. I'm going back to the dealer tomorrow to see if they can do anything with it.

It looked at 3 more on the lot today and all of them have the same movement in the mirror so they will vibrate also. I had the dealer make a note on it and if enough people complain I hope Mazda will do something about it. I am going to bring it up every time I'm at the dealer hopefully theywill listen and correct it.

The buzzing from the headlights is due to the amount of boltage required to run the HID headlights along with the light sensor controlling them. The navigation options disappear while driving as the auto companies do not want people changing options wile they are driving. This is a standard thing on all dealer navigation units.

That's not it.. What I mean is the buzzer sounds getting out of the car since the lights are still on (Set to Auto). Why should it sound when it's on auto.. Yea sure when it set to On but not auto...

I have the CX7 and I also wondered about the locks not Auto Locking. Also try getting out of the car when all doors are locked. The only way is to either use the key fob or manually unlock that door. I have talked to NHTB about this safety concern and didn't get any where there.[:@]

I think auto door locks should be the drivers option. We only lock the doors when driving slowly in a questionable neighborhood. Otherwise I prefer that the doors not be locked in case I am in an accidennt.

ok all dealer nav systems do not block you from adjusting while driving and in fact i just traded in an 05 mazda 3 for my cx-9 and its stock nav system could be adjusted while driving, sitting, flying, whatever. I do like the fact that the locks do not auto lock, to me that is annoying, If I want the door locks I will move my hand the two inches and do it myself. I really have no complaints yet but i just got mine yesterday, however i was wondering if anyon knows how to pull the radio as i just bought the nav system off ebay from a wrecked one, and i have pulled many a radio but i want to know exactly so as not to break any clips and the dealer wouldnt install this for me.

The mirrors do not move to match the recorded seat position. No holein the valet key. No way to upload waypoints forNAV. No height adjustment for passenger seat. When using keyless mode, car should lock automaticallywhen you walk away.

Annoyances we have.

1. No option for trip computer, i.e., gas mileage, distance to empty, etc. First car I've owned since 1989 without this feature.

2. No option to have doors automatically lock after movement commences.

3. No height adjustment of passenger seat.

4. My wife cannot get direct sunlight out of her eyes without raising the driver's seat until it crushes her hairdo. This is due to windshield design.

5. Every front-seat passenger I have ever had bumped their head when entering the first time.

6. I can't believe there is no built-in garage door opener option. Unheard of for a luxury car.

7. No reverse sensing warning option except rear camera which only comes with nav system at premium expense.

The car drives well, but a little more emphasis of the luxury side would have been appreciated, especially on my GT.

I believe that #7 is not true...I discovered by accident that Mazda has a special rearview mirror that has 3"x 3" (I think) square in the mirror that projects what the rear camera sees..thus avoiding having to get the nav system...I do believe that the roof line is too pronounce and yes I did have the same problem entering and exiting the car...I blamed it on the fact that I drive an Expedition 2005....and that is like getting in a house through the main door.

The safety features on the NAV Unit have to go. My portable let's me enter in new info while I'm driving, why shouldn'tthis built in unit? There's got to be a way to bypass it. There must be a wire that tells the unit that the car is in drive, or is moving. Who's got a wiring diagram or knows exactly how the unit knows you're in motion? (Could be inherent in the GPS unit itself)

My driver's mirror does the exact same vibrating thing, but not the passenger mirror.

Mirrors don't adjust with the memory seats. That's 1/3rd of the adjustments you have to make when switching drivers. It should be there. (1/3rd seat, 1/3rd outer mirrors, 1/3rd rear view mirror) That's just a dumb design.

No trip computer that shows at the very least Average MPG and HRS travelled.

Headlights in auto mode, make the door chime sound.

Hello forum... I work for a dealer and am looking into the mirror complaint... I've forwarded the issue to my factory rep... as soon as I get a reply I'll post it. Enjoy !

My biggest annoyance to date would be the nav system. The thing is just too darn complicated when it could be so much more simple in my mind. Believe you I am no techno geek but I can handle basic electronics and this is complicated to say the least. Also the lack of auto locking doors isnt right on a car of this price. Other then that very satisfied so far.

If you bring the car to the dealer.. they can program it to automaticaly lock...
The following function settings are possible. These settings can only be changed by anAuthorized Mazda Dealer. : Lock/unlock operation confirmation beep sound A beep sound is heard to confirm that all doors orthe liftgate have been locked/unlocked.Autolock function*2 When all doors and the liftgate are closed and the advanced key is being carried and out of operational range, all the doors and the liftgate automatically lock after 3 seconds.(Even if the driver is in the operational range, alldoors and the liftgate are locked automaticallyafter about 30 seconds.)

imamgcx9,
Now that you drive one does the vibration in the outside mirrors bother you ?
Maybe I'm anal about it but it drives me nuts not to be able to identify what kind of car is behind me without looking into the inside mirror

The mirror not being totaly "stable" can be a bother... but ... I've found that since I "know" it does... that I dont "stare" into it... there's always likely to be something that gets on your nerves about just about anything... I have noticed it on each CX-9 I've driven... ... and I did mention it to my Mazda Rep... If something comes of it... I'll post it as soon as I know...

DN27

Thanks, and I'm doing the same thing "trying not to stare into it"
and at least I'm not the only one it bothers

What I'm realy waiting to hear... is when /or what my wife complains about... as she's the main driver of the car on a daily basis... much more "picky" than I... and will have a totaly different perspective than I do... being in the "business" ... I'm a lot more forgiving than most will be knowing what's involved in "fixing" things... and the fact that "things" are rarely totaly perfect... [:-]

...from what I read in EDMONDS forums they do lock automatically...the dealer must do the setting..

If you check you owners manual it probably tells you how to set the auto locks.

Someone else mentioned no built in garage door opener, if you check with your dealerthe homelinkoption may be available for your vehicle.

1> auto lock,
2> driver side mirror (ordering new side mirrors with turning signals hopefully will resolve the infamous shaking)
3> driver seat automatically resets itself
4> rear doors panels, fabric coming off (both rear panels are being replaced)
5> crappy aux,
6> crappy bose system, shuts half the speakers off, if MP3 player is to high

Beeping radio![:@]

Every time I use the steering wheel controls to adjust the radio it beeps to confirm the change. After 3 months of constantly changing the volume or station I'm about ready to find the engineer that thought this was a good idea and tell him to shove his beeper where the sun don't shine. Seriously, this is driving me crazy! Does anyone know how to turn this beeping beeper off?

Craig

.. I thought I remember seeing something about beeps in the Nav setup/configuration menu.

You're right Craig... I posted this below in edmnonds cx-9 forums...

I've the nav system like you...and it gets (got) on my nerves too... what you do is go thru the "display" system controls on screen... to turn the beep off...

jamuel

Thanks, that works!
I had already turned of the beep on the nav system but never knew how to do it with the auido system. YOU JUST MADE MY DAY :D

I don't understand why there are so many items that need the dealer involvement to set up..why doesn't thus set ups come with the xplanation in the owners ,manuals...it seems that there are a lot small items that inconvinineces people and degrades a good vehicle...come on Mazda you have been building good car for years...

By the way I don't have the Nav and the beep is controlled through the radio controls

Hi everyone!
My wife and I recently purchased a 2007 CX 9. I have been reading thru some issues on this site and agree with everyone about some of the items that are missing in the luxury line. I do have one problem that I haven't seen listed, and that is the low beam headlights. We live in a rural area, and it seems that when the lights are on low beam, they are almost useless when driving on rolling, twisting, quick up and down hills. There is also a very annoying, distinct "light / no light"area. By this, I mean that there is no fade out of light density, only this distinct line.
It is not a problem when driving in towns, but it is a big problem when out in the country when trying to watch for deer! High beams are fine.
I have adjusted the 3 position switch to raise or lower the lights but this isn't the answer. Is anyone else having problems?
Thanks
J.B

I just bought a CX-9 Sunday and I dont like:

Glass Backlight is affixed
No RDS info on the Radio
No Trip Computer (Trip Odo's dont count)
Smallish Glovebox/Lack of additional Storage bins (like Outlander)
Transmission is jerky when you apply gas after coasting
The Bottom of the Doors are easy to catch when getting out
Ignition Switch is on the Steering column and not the Dash

But everytime I look at that Stormy Blue Mica paint and grip that 3-spoke, leather-wrapped wheel, I allow those complaints to become mere quibbles in the rearview!

I just took my CX9 to the dealer for the recall notice on the front door straps. Since I was there I had them check my clock for the losing time issue and they had to order me a new one. Now the bad news I also had them look at the outside mirror on the drivers side because of the vibration and it making everything blurry. They drove it and told me there is nothing wrong the tech says he can see everything perfectly clear, of course many of you on here know better. I know there isn't a fix for this I just want them to admit there is a problem and to put me on a list so if they ever find a fix I will get it. So my dealer is now my biggest annoyance[:@]

you can alter the settings of the "advance keyless entry" system to automaticly lock the doors when the key card is out of range. Take it back to your dealer and have the shop forman address it, if he gives you the run a round, have him call Mazda Hot Line to walk him through it, be paitent, the hotline calls take forever and tend to piss techs off. (remember turning wrenches for a living is a demeaning and life robbing occupation, and while such minor details may seem major and important to the customer, they drive techs up the wall). The tech is going to loose money on figuring it out so agian be understanding and paitent.

I've spoken to our rep several times... and they've not come up with a fix yet. I've not driven the 08 to see if it's been "fixed" ... at some point I "think" it'll be addressed... If you've the entertainment system... there's been issues with the headsets breaking... they've updated the material to make it stronger... if you've issues with that... ask your dealer... if they're of no help... get back to me and I'll try to help as best I can.

There are only a few things I dislike about the 2007 CX-9.

1. When you step on the accelerator thereis a hesitation before the engine wakes up and hauls arse (FWD).
2. My $24,000 jetta wagon had a piston raised hood, what's up with the old school metal rod on the cx-9???
3. I cannot see how the gas cap fits on the fuel door while fueling. It just smacks on the side of the car.
4. No height adjustment on the GT passenger seat.
5. No heat settings on the seats. Arse searing or off???
6. Driver mirror oscillates big time.
7. No updates for NAV system, 2006 software.

As critical as I am,the vehicle is still outstanding.
