Hello, I am new to this forum and I would like to introduce myself, my name is Roubel I am from the DC area and I don’t really have to much mechanical experience. I work in the tech field so I am good at learning to fix things on my own. The problem that I am having is I have a 1997 Mazda 626 4 cylinder automatic and I noticed that my brake lights would come on. I then checked my pads and everything could not find any issues, then I noticed my brake fluids were low I refilled then a month later I noticed it go low again. I finally noticed that my left rear tire had oil on it and it was leaking from the rear brakes. Has anyone else had this same issue occur ? I am trying to see if I can find a diagram for the rear brake assembly so I can replace the whole assembly with a more mechanically inclined friend. Any help or suggestions would be appreaciated.

Get a can of brake cleaner, jack up, remove wheel, clean the area. Have a friend depress the brake a few times, see if the brake
hose is leaking, may have just a loose connection to wheel cylinder. If you decide to do the repair, check the book store for repair
manual, usually under $20, plus then you have info on the whole car.

Prior advice excellent. Only would add as a direction to go is keep in mind car may be ready for rear caliper if it has drum brakes not pads & disc on rear.
