I just bought some 18 in wheels off my buddyfor my 99 626. The rear is scrubbing pretty good the size of the tires are 245/40.I was wondering what can i do to eliminate the problem. I am open to all suggestions.

245/40's? Man, those are pretty big for a 626 aren't they? They'd be impossible on a 3, especially a lowered 3.
'Sounds likesome fender rolling is in order if you are planning to keep it that way. Or get smaller tires... I don't know what the stock tire size is on a '99 626, but say 215/45's? You may not have any other choice.
You don't want to lift the rear of a FWD car. That'll throw it way out of balance. Most of the weight is already on the front. (+/-60%)
You may be losing more in unsprung weight and rolling resistance (friction) than you're gaining in handling w/that set up. Your mileage (mpg) is liable to go down too.

Well they aren't rubbing the finder. Actually they fit under nicely. They are scrubbing the bottom of the strut. All i need is about .50-.75 lift.

Perhaps wheel spacers would do the job then, though I'm not too crazy sbout that idea myself?

I think if I had to choose the fix, I would simply put on narrower tires, or wheels if that's the case. Anything else is just like putting a Band-Aid on it and is a compromise to cover up the real problem.

i would just get a lower control arm that had adjustable camber. then you could adjust the upper and step it out a little. who knows, the lower control arm might bring it out a little by itself.
