its now officiall June 1st, so its time to open up the nominations!!

and remember!
someone has to nominate someone (joe's mazda)
some will have to second the nomination
and then Joe's Mazda will accept the nomination, thus locking the nomination....

and please guys, lets actually try to get this ROTM rolling, i dont want this to turn out ****ty.... cuz that would suck!

ROTM is a good idea, but I don't liek the way it is being executed. we'll try it though.

Yes. It would be easier to request nomination by posting pics and listing mods, then have your ride voted on by the members.
It's gonna be hard for many ppl to second a nomination since most don't know everybody personally.
i.e. I've talked to most of you on and off, but am not all that familar w/your cars, so I wouldn't know whoI might nominate.
It seems that by setting up the nominations in this way you are limiting the possibilies. See what I mean?

maybe we should have a separate thread where people can post their pictures and mods, then everyone can nominate from there, then vote. as in, you will be posting your own pictures, but other people will nominate you and vote for you. that way, it will be the best of both systems, because even if you post pics,there is still a chance that youwon't get nominated.

i dont think it should be permitted to submit pictures of ones vehicle that have been tampered with on photoshop (or other image editing program).

well obviously.... photo shopping is cheating.

I submitted 2 photos where the background is blurred and the image is cropped but I didn't touch the car itself in the submitted shots. Is that ok?

thats word. just no adjustments should be made to the car itself...id say tampering with the background should be alright.

Thanks for the compliment, your car is really nice too. I thought removing that black b-pillar trim around the windows was really creative.

i was talking more about chopping different rims on ur car, different body styles, etc etc.

i think the black base on the mirror does not seem to stick out too much on my 3s because it sort of blends in with/compliments the dark black tint and the black mesh lower grill. also, i have black leather interior, so it kind of goes along with the theme of silver/black.

The wheels (Falken Torque 5) are 17" x 7" with an offset of 40mm. They weigh 23 pounds each and have a 5 x 114.3 bolt pattern. The wheels are available in chrome, gloss black with a polished lip, silver with a polished lip, and gunmetal with a polished lip. I got the gunmetal w/ polished lip. I have not seen them in white, but that would look damn good.

I didn't notice (until after my post) that you had the wheels listed as gunmetal. At first glance I thought they werebronze. Either would work well on your silver car. But, OUCH!! 23lbs and only 40mm offset? Wow. They look much tighter than that. I would've guessed @ least a 45.

I wanna stay w/@ least a 45-48 and lose some of the weight of the OEMs, so between those restrictions (I've given myself) and a tight mod budget I'm still on OEMs full time. I've been looking @ the Kosei K1's and nearly picked up a nice used set for $600 on another forum. I lost sleep over those. 50mm offset and 14lbs a piece!! [&o][&o] [&o]

i was on a tight budget. i bought the falken wheels becuase i am into autocrossing and i wanted something i could put sticky performance tires on that also looked good. i only use the falkens from mid to late spring until early to mid fall. my oem wheels are wrapped in all-season tires that i use the rest of the year.

something tells me that the ROTM will come to a crashing end sometime soon....

'Would love to but, and it's a long and sad "but," I'm on a new computer and most of my pics are still on the old machine. I need to transfer them, if I can, and when I can and how I can??
This Vista machine is a pain in the butt!! Nothing is the same andnone of my old programsor peripheralsrun on it. Had to buy a new printer when the old one was fine. My scanner doesn't work either and it was a nice one.
Bought a Canon all-in-one but I'm not so sure I like it.
Maybe next month, D.... if I figure this thing out?

I understand the budget thing, for sure. Depending on what they cost you though, there are other options.I hope I'm not repeating myself here, but I've had my eye on the Kosei K1 TS's for a while. For $199 ea. you get a 17"x7" 50mm offset (hard to find, but possible,) 14.1 lbs. apiece!!Someone on another forum weighed thestockers in @ 19.4 lbs. That's a lot of saved unsprung weight there, and they look nice too.

im pretty sure the first few months will go pretty slowly....
then once people start realizing this section, every thing will hopefully pic up....

i have to nominate the one that put mazda on the american sportscar map. so, 87turbo II, congrats. nice little ride. mine will be on soon, but not soon enough.

Ok I have to put up MrTea's Mazda6 due to the turbo kit and engine rebuild to handle the boost. When you get deep into things like that, it is a lot fo work AND money so I respect that a lot.
