View Full Version : POST A PIC OF YOUR RIDE!!
dentinger 06-02-2007, 03:13 PM alright.... some people feel that this will bea better way to execute the ROTM.
so everyone post some good pics of your ride...
lets say, 2-3 pics minimum.
so, 1-2 of the exterior, and 1-2 of the interior, if you've done anything (ie, subs) and then 1-2 pics of the engine bay, if its been modded at all.
also, include whatyou've done to the car too...
so:
Exterior: .......
Interior: ..........
I.C.E.: ............
performance mods: ....... (we'll include suspension and whatnot in here too)
87 turbo II 06-02-2007, 09:11 PM Ok here is my 1987 Mazda Rx-7 Turbo II

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n15/eastermonkey/Rx-7%20rainy%20day/IMG_0160.jpg
Exterior: none
Interior: Sony XpLode Headunit w/ CD and Auxillery Jack, Python Remote start and alarm system
Performance mods: High temperature racing brake fluid, 50W20 oil (thicker than reccomended to increase oil pressure), rusted out mufflers (not very official but makes the car sound sweet and decreases backpressure),
Interesting information: This is a very early production Turbo II model. Mazda first sold the turbo FCs in year 1987. An 87 TII is the only model Rx-7 where power steering was optional rather than standard(this car does not have it). The VIN number traces to a VIN date of 04/86 and sold as an 87 making it one of the first 500 TIIs produced in the world. One of the first 100 to come to America. The interior is grey, on all Sonice Blue metallic 87 Turbo IIs made after the first 3 build months, the only interior option is blue (blue on blue) making my grey interior a limited procutction feature for a blue FC. Only the first 680 TIIs recieved Steel hoods rather than aluminum, this vehicle has a steel hood. this car is on its original engine with original paint, making it a very well preserved rare, limited early production model. I am the 2nd owner to own it and the car has service records from New York, Califonria, and now Georgia, so it has been nationwide.

I won't mod the exterior since I already like it, however I might stiffen my suspension to decrease some body roll...and to help cope with NYC streets. :(

virgin1 05-16-2008, 05:48 PM Well... it just sort of happened.I thought about red, but EVERYBODY and his brother paints their calipers (Brembo) red and I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I don't have Brembo calipers and besides I like the blue but didn't want the badges blue too.
Also, I was short on time (< than a week) preparing for my first local Mazda meet. It wasn't a conscience decision to do the red, white and blue thing, but probably a sub-conscience one. I wanted to be a little different. Isn't that what we all strive for? Some like it, some don't, but it's OK w/me.
And, no offense taken. It's a valid question.
Here's how the car actually looked then. A few things have changed since then (04/01/06):

virgin1 05-16-2008, 07:12 PM Good eye there, Haroon!!
It wasAnthony Tangs '04 Titanium Gray ATX HB, theorganizer of our local Mazda chapter. That was before he traded up to a black'07 MS3.The license number on that car was only 2 away from my own. Z11*..., mine vs. Z13*..., his, and he bought his 6 days after I bought mine.
bseel393 06-25-2008, 02:30 PM your car is amazing! i love what you have done with it. it looks like i might have to make some changes to mine real soon.
racergirl435 07-19-2008, 07:41 PM Here's my new baby! Just bought her on the 16th and I absolutely love it. Only mod I'm going to be doing any time soon will be installing an aux jack so I can play my MP3 player.

virgin1 07-19-2008, 10:41 PM Nice, Jess. Is it a 6i VE?
racergirl435 07-20-2008, 06:29 PM ORIGINAL: virgin1
Nice, Jess. Is it a 6i VE?
Is it bad that I don't know? ;) I assume VE stands for value edition? All I know is it's pretty, it goes fast and it makes me smile.
What would make it a 6i VE? It's the 2.3L v4 sport AT tran.
virgin1 07-20-2008, 06:40 PM Very good, and correct!! Mazda is selling a ton of those editions lately because they are pretty good value. Also I recently took my 3 in for service and they loaned 2 of them to me,on 2 different visits of course.
My biggest complaint was the softness of the suspension. If I owned one I would at least have to upgrade the ant-sway bars. :D
racergirl435 07-22-2008, 03:07 PM Actually, my suspension seems to be fine. But then again, I have been driving an HHR for the last2 years and trust me, that thing was mush compared to my 6. I need to come up with a name for her. It needs to be something racey or race inspired.
virgin1 07-22-2008, 06:30 PM All I have to say Jess is: http://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performance-Part/60-1002.html
You would NOT be sorry.
Oh, and one other thing: It is my belief that you cannot force a name on a car. It either has one or it doesn't.
My ex said the name for her/my Civic was Inga, and it was. My 3 HB is virgin1, and it is.

virgin1 10-05-2008, 06:01 AM Personally I am not too crazy "bout those rims, and I hope you have some flame throwers in those tails to get through that dark tint too? I'd lighten them up a bit if I were you, but to each his/her own.... I"m sure you"ll be changing them @ some point. You seem like a guy that doesn"t stand still for too long.

My only comment is that the headlights "need" something.Too much shiny chromeup there.Perhaps an internal blacking out... and I don"t mean tint either.

Thank for the pos comments Rich. It is a Magnaflow Catback. I am lowered on Megan Street Spec Coilovers with Racingbeat Fr & Rr Swaybars & AWR endlinks. I have bee thinking about just upgrading to the black headlamps from the 06-08 models, but after just installing HIDs I am holding off. Saving for the CPE intake...:)
virgin1 12-11-2008, 01:39 PM Woooo.I"ll bet she handles nice, but rides a bit rough, eh?
What about separating the headlamp housing like one does for DDE's and doing some paint work in there.... or some black tape, if that wouldwork? You could even get creative and leave a chrome trim ring while the rest is blacked out... something like that, huh?
Mazmart Trini 12-11-2008, 02:42 PM She rides sweet. It was fun up at Deals Gap. I know it has been done many times by other 6 owners (including some of my friends), but I am just not feeling baking & opening up the headlamps. If anything goes wrong, these lamps are pretty expensive to replace. Even for me...:(

virgin1 05-16-2009, 05:07 PM THAT is pretty cool, Biglay!!! I especially enjoyed the video.
You are reminds me of the early Civic I used to AutoX and Road Rally. the reason they are so much fun with such little horsepower is the short wheelbase. They are quick to turn in and every movement is highly accentuated. In short, they are twitchy.
If you could figure out a way to get the body down over the wheels a bit more the car would not only look better, but turn in better too. (Less body roll.)
Looks like a lot of cheap fun, Biglay. It also makes me miss my Civic in a big way.
Biglay5150 05-16-2009, 11:10 PM The car is set up well. It is just a different ball game with a Festiva as there in no aftermarket support. We build our cars out of the good parts from others. I also have another one that isnt even street legal. Strictly and auto-x car. The one pictured is my daily driver.

There are 3 Mazda Speed 3's behind me as well as a Pontiac GTO. Coming Across the Skyway I had all but 1 of them by at least 1/2 mile, and to think they were the Go fast cars. The other one was catching back up in the straightaways but was loosing it in the to me in the Corners.
I seriously think it was more the old fart in the car that knew how to beat up on the Kids, but the car does handle awesome :D
BRIAN MP5T 08-31-2009, 06:47 PM Perhaps you were just driving dangerously...
Siber Express 08-31-2009, 08:04 PM Knowing the line and not exceeding it and driving dangerously are 2 different thing, being lower and having wider tires was what was beating the Speeds through the corners and the GTO is fast in a straight line, that and 20-25 years more experience driving probably helped also.

This is why I don't come around here much anymore, I ****ing HATE MF and all you noobs with < 10 posts telling a senior member what to do with my car.
Honestly, this is why I'm on Focus Fanatics, and away from the import scene. You, as a community, emphasize what people DON'T have instead of the knowledge and experience that they do have. I'm done with being insulted on the forums and on my pictures. You don't like my car? Whatever. Keep your mouth shut. Like you're original by telling me I have an old man's piece of crap.
virgin1 02-27-2010, 01:32 PM Easy there Big Fella'. You know there are always a few.....
And if you notice, he/she/it was a one-off. One post and done. And look at the name: mazda6ex!
You know us "regular guys" don't usually pick on you for your Bu... unless we are helping you too. :D :D :D
I wondered where you have been lately. I figured you were just taking a break or busy w/school & work.
