I have a 1995 Mazda Mx-6 LS and it died on me on the way back home. Now it wont start. The only time it will turn over is when it is getting jumped but wont start even when i do that. Could it be my ignition system? If so or any suggestions on how to fix it plz let me know.

 

i have a 1993 MX-6 v6 5spd that did the same thing on me and it took me the longest time to figure out what it was. it turns out that it was the distributor cap not getting a good connection and it would shut off. maybe that could possibly be a good place to start.

 

alright cool. I will go check the distributor cap and see what is goin on with that. Hopefully that is it and if it is i am all set HOPEFULLY.

 

If engine died while you were driving and would then not even turn over then you alternator has died. Possible just due to age or could also be a battery shorted out internally. If battery is very weak and is cranking over very slowly even when getting jump started the will not start. Try picking up a new battery and installing to see if it will then start. Is so then also get the charging system checked to make sure it is putting out enough juice or you will only be running on battery power untill is becomes discharged.

 

Take you alternatorthe a parts store and have it tested they do it for free at autozone
