One day old
Hey everyone, I just brought home my RX8 yesterday. I traded an 07 Mustang GT that I built to run 12's but the ride sucked. Fast, fun, cheap, but the only compliments I ever got always came from old men. The 'stang had 2800 miles on it and the RX8 had 21,000 ('04). Without getting into the numbers, I made out very well. I've been a body tech/painter for quite a few years now and I was fortunate enough to spend time working at a big Mazda dealership. (right when the Mazda 3, 6, and RX8 debuted) Building the RX8 body wisewas awesome. I never did any motor work, but as a car enthusiast I am very impressed with the idea of the rotary. I also bought my fiancee a new Mazda 3 and we're really excited to beMazda fans. These are really great cars. I started out building and racing MKII Volkswagens and recently traded in my 02 Gti 1.8T. The car had great spirit, but the build quality sucked. It ended my run of VW's. Anyways, I plan on putting the money that I made on the RX8 deal back into bolt-ons, but I don't really see myself going overboard on this car because it damn near suits all my needs as it sits. I haven't been able to say that in a long time.
I bought my 06 leftover about a month ago and I love it as well. The only thing I really wish it had was a little better suspension and better brakes. Those are going to be my next upgrades sometime in the near future. I like the rotary engine and I noticed that once it got broke in more it didn't go thru as much oil.
