I don’t think it’s a severe engine related noise, because it only does it in gear and never while idling. It seems to pop up most when I accelerate from a stop, or if I apply sudden acceleration while moving. I realize it could be a multitude of things, but it would really help to narrow it down.

My 2015 Mazda 6 has been generally free of problems. However, part of the door panel coverings are starting to de-laminate. At first, it was only the driver's door panel. I was going to experiment with fixing it myself but now the rear door on the passenger side has the same problem. Here's a picture or the passenger side rear door:



The blue window sill part is still in tact but the tan part has detached at the top side and bulging outward. The panel has a foam-ish type backing. The surface underneath the panel is smooth hard plastic. The armrest is partially obscured in the picture. The problem on the driver's door is exactly the same. I tried the spray adhesive on the driver's door (before the second door exhibited the problem) but it didn't work - I think the foam backing of the panel prevented adherence to the hard plastic panel. That tan panel, when it is attached, tucks ever so slightly under the blue sill part but there's not enough material there to tuck in to hold the rest of the panel in place.

Has anyone else had this problem. Is there a solution? Or do I have to take it to an automotive upholsterer? Or at worst, the dealer? Thanks for any suggestions.

I’ve been to places that fit alarms and they won’t touch it. Next step is an auto electrician but even the one I spoke to didt sound happy about touching it.
i have the part it’s just a plug and screw it back on the holder.
mine is the original one and is not very loud anymore and all it does is a very slight tick now. Trouble is it’s draining the battery where it’s going off all the time.
I’m happy to replace it myself if it is plug and play but don’t want to muck the car up if it has to go on a computer for it to work again.

ive swapped the alarm siren over it is just plug and play.
