Hi Oldeng, We need your help. We have a 2003 P5 with 110k miles. It has some kind of idle/power issue. Sometimes it drives fine, and sometimes it will want to Stall out, has decrese in power with a slight "rapping/clunking" noise. This usaully happens while driving, or sometimes when you start the car.

Last night, drove it and it was fine, we parked, it sat for a few hours, and When we got in to drive home, it started with the issue, drove it almost all the way home, and then it seemed to fix itself and ramp up to normal power/rpms...and a few blocks later it went bad again????

We have replaced the EGR Valve, and it has new plugs/wires. One mechanic said it was the pre CAT, others have sugguested coils or an o2 sensor.

I dont think its the CAT if it keeps going from running good to running bad, right?

    Is this a coil issue?

What do you recomend I do first. Please help.

    Thanks so much
    Marc
