Default help for '93 323

I'm new to forums and would like to get some input. I recently blew the head gasket on my 1993 323. Its a base model, automatic transmission, and has absolutely no options. It has approximately 146,000 miles on the odometer. I've had the car for about five years and do not want to get rid of it (it was my first car, and will not get any money for it with a blown head gasket). I'm ready and willing to stick some money into it to get it driving again, wouldn't mind swapping in a GT or GTX motor into it. I'm leaving to go to Marine boot camp in about two weeks (on Nov. 2nd) so if anyone has any information on how to fix the motor I have now, places that can fix it, or any other information reguarding 323's please feel free to write back. If there are any questions that you might have about my car just ask and I will try to answer them as best as I can.
Thank you,
John

Trust me, you will be banking so much money, expecting you are single, have no debts and credit cards are good, that the Mazda will be left to dust.

Just by yourself a new car/used with the enlistment bonus, once you come out of boot camp you will see things different.

Did you try the local auto shops, swapping a head gasket on that car is like working on a go-kart. I live in FL so I am way far out to help at all.
