Default Speed 3 swap for 2.3 liter?

What parts would you have to change in order to fit the speed 3 engine in for the 2.3 liter engine? Would I have to buy new parts for everything or are there some that would fit both of these engines?
I am planning on doing a speed 3 swap into my 08 mazda 3 2.3 liter sedan.

You didn't mention if your 3 was auto or manual. Anyway you will need engine, trans, ecu , new fuel pump, exhaust, axel shafts. I might have left something out but you get the picture. Oh alot of money and time!!! Good luck.

Just sell the sedan and get the Speed3.

You're basically rebuilding the entire car in order to do the swap. You'll spend WAY more money on the swap than if you just bought a Speed3.

I don't think the Speed3 engine will clear the hood of the sedan either, so you're probably looking at that custom.

Not worth it just to have 4 doors vs 5 IMO.

I'd like to put in a 302 V8 and convert to RWD. That would be fun......

It would probably be cheaper/easier to install a turbo kit and programmable ECU, but it would also be advisable to run some forged rods if not other internals too, as well as a stage1 clutch.
Overall, an easier convert than trying to install the factory stuff from a wreck.

I wouldn't consider getting a MazdaSpeed3. I don't like how they only have the hatchback version available.
I drive an automatic.
And very good point virgin 1.

Keep the boost down w/the auto or from what I've read, you'll be asking for all kinds of tranny probs.

much cheaper and more sense to just get a bolt on turbo kit, if you have an auto plan on keeping it at 8 psi with forged rods.

the speed motor is a direct swap into the hatchback with no modifications, for the sedan you might have hood clearance issue, but you cannot swap internals from the speed into a non speed, but u can take the turbo mani and other parts including trans....still not worth it unless some1 has a speed 3 motor just lying around

if you wanna do an engine swap thats worth while, do a 20b conversion

turboing an autotragic mazda3 is like driving a lamborghini thats automatic. You could do it but it's incredibly pointless.
