Default NEW TRIBUTES?

Can someone clarify the current situation in relation to brand new Mazda Tributes? We have an 02 Tribute and love it! So much so that we would love to have a new one. However, our understanding is that Tributes were no longer being made, but lo and behold we're seeing 54 plate Tributes on the road! Are they being imported to Scotland? We would prefer a manual, (for towing purposes), but someone has told us that the only engine available in Tributes now is a 3.0 auto. Any comments or advice would be welcome!

Well I just bought an '05 tribute with a 2.3L engine and a stick back in May. Not sure about the plans for '06. I believe I heard they were going to offer a hybrid version at some point in the future though. Mine is built to hold a battery in the cargo area - they just filled it in with a syrofoam/cardboard filler. I thought the other day it would have been cool if they would have put a little storage compartment for the all-weather floor mats instead

05 model is definitely available in the US market. The 2.3l four comes with an auto or manual trans but 3.0 V6 only available with auto trans. Make sure that if you plan on doing any towing that you get the trailer tow package. It is not an option that you can add later.
