I dont think the gold would look good against the titanium color of the color. Besides, i dont like gold color unless its on jewelery Register today for free or log-in if already registered to remove this ad!

I see plenty of gold chrome trim here in Detroit (BLING-BLING) It takes away from the car in my opinion. I like the dark painted emblems as they blend into the body and let the lines of the car be the main feature the eyes are drawn to.

Gold on a car is not a nice color to me either, it just doesnt look good. I would rather have no badges, or a darker color, like the black. If that was an option when you buy a car, to either have it de-badged or have them painted a different color, that would be sweet.

It should look pretty nice when it is all done. I am going to paint the badges a glossy black, and those should look sweet against the titanium silver paint color, and in the front grill.

When you get a chance to take more pics , I'm sure we'd like to see that

I got the badges sanded a bit. i got some touch-up paint from Mazda in the mail the other day and started to apply it to see how it looks and it seemed to watered down to use. I am still going to go with the black though. i just need to time paint them. i am also going to spray the plastic engine cover black and clear coat it, like the badges. I will have pictures this weekend.

I am picking up my paint this afternoon at a Checker store, it is Duplicolor Engine Enamel Gloss Black and Engine Enamel Clear coat. I am going to have them painted this weekend and post pictures of them and the engine cover as well. I am taking my car to a little place where people show off there cars this weekend.

that engine cover could look really nice... definitely add some pictures for us to observe. I bet that will look really nice with you car exterior paint.

yeah, that paint that mazda sends you (touch up paint) did seem to be really runny. I didn't put it on my car but I did play around with it a bit.

just under the "MAZDA" part. The "3" and the flying M don't have holes in the sheetmetal.

Actually, both "Mazda" and the flying "M" have marker holes, and tape only the "3" just had the tape on the backside, which was really easy to remove actually. and now, the moment you have all been waiting for, pics... here we go.
As you can probably tell, on the "Mazda" piece, some spots you can still see the chrome thru the black, its not bad, but i think I will paint it again next weekend. let me know what you guys think. I also relocated the "3" to the opposite side of the trunk, just to balance it out.
