Default RE: Mud flap Help!!!!

I initially was told by the salesman that the Mazda mud flaps work with the sills. However when it came time to put them on the service manager would not do it, seems you have to cut into both to make it work. Sent the things back without ever looking at them.

Question

This Mazda website specifies that the mud flaps cannot be installed with a side air dam skirt. Has anyone installed these Mazda products for the Mazda5? Does it require a dealer install? Thanks.

[edit] The front mud flaps are a pair for 40 US$, part number CC29V3450G and are available in the USA; 45 US$ to install the pair. The rear pair are part number CC29V3460G and no such part number exists according to the local Mazda dealers. They all said, "It's not a good number." Might it be available somewhere else? Thanks.

Question

It just occurred to me that the reason that there is no rear mud flap number for the Mazda5 is that you have to use the same part for both the front and the back.

How about that? Could that be true?

I just wrote Mazda about the issue.

I am also interested in adding mudflaps to my wife's new GT. But everyone says it can't be done. I'll be interested to see what you come up with.

Here is the response from Mazda USA:

Hello Robert,

Thanks for contacting Mazda.

For the Mazda 5 vehicle we only offer front splash guards part# CC29-V3-450G. I did verify the information online as well as with our accessories department and only the front splash guards are available.

Again, thank you for contacting Mazda.

Next Tuesday I will have the front mud guards installed and start looking for some substitute for rear mud guards. I will have pictures then.

Question

Change 2. This link picturing the rear Mazda mudflap is from South Africa, I believe. Could this rear mud flap be avaiable in Europe or Canada and not available in the USA?

Here is my reply to Gabriel G. at Mazda USA:
Quote:
Gabriel:

FWIW, here is a link to the Mazda page with the Mazda5 rear mud flaps listed as Mazda accessories.

http://www.mazda.co.za/servlet/Conte...=MSA&c=DFYPage

Note that the link is "mazda.co.za". Please advise me if this is not a USA item.

Thank you for your help.

Gabriel's response:

Hello Robert,

Thanks again for contacting Mazda.

This is not a U.S. part. From the link you sent it looks like it’s for the South African market and is not available to be ordered in the U.S. also the specifications on the vehicle may be different to meet safety standards or other needs in that market area.

Again, thank you for contacting Mazda.

Front mud flaps added to my 2008 Mazda5. I like them. Maybe the rear mud flaps will be available in the USA sometime. BTW, this car is the metallic gray color. It appears blue because it is reflecting the blue house exterior, I presume.
