Default Loose unknown cable identification

Hi, this is my first post on the forum.
I am in New Zealand and own a 2005 Verisa
While trying to figure out why the factory radio / CD won't turn on, I discovered a loose cable, disconnected with the connector catch broken.
Any clues to it's purpose?

Welcome to the forums!

Could it be that the cable is for an aftermarket audio equipment that is no longer installed in the vehicle now? Are you the original Owner of the vehicle, or did you buy it used?
