Default Electronics have a life of their own

Hope I'm in the right section. I have a Mazda 6 GT Station Wagon V6 2005. I have had from new, and never had a problem with anything! I have just returned home from a "fairly rapid" 100Km distance trip, parked the car in the drive and switched off. I then immediately went to start it again to move it back a bit. The thing went mad! all the dials started to flash on and off, the speedo and other hands on the dials started to switch up and down, there was a clicking noise coming from under the hood. The car wouldn't start, and it was blacked out except for the dials and hands that seemed to have a life of their own. I cannot lock the car. What in earth has happened? Please.
