Default 04' 6 AC. Air , doing nothing..Help a newb

Okay so this is my first visit/post to the forum. I have a 2004 6 V6 . I dont know alot about cars so thats why im asking you..the pros. I live in a very hot climate but hardly use the AC. About a week ago I decided I would and nothing happened. No cold air , No hot air, notta zip zilch. The dash lights do go up and down as if it were working fine. What should I check? Is this common? Thanks

Do you here fan noise? check the fuses in the fuse panel ....WITH A METER.....your yes can trick you. Check the belts on the A/C compressor. Does the compressor pulley spin? This is the short list of things to check, check back after you check the things aforementioned.

Hi there i think you may have a leak on the system and thats why its not turning on because the A/C pressure switch is stopping the P.C.M from sending the command to the Compressor, Take the Vehicle to a A/C shop and get the person to inspect the Refridgerent pressure as low pressure will stop the system operating as a fail safe , also ask them to carry out a dye and leak check of the system.
