04 Mazda 6 hose collapse
I got an engine light. My OBD2 code reader told me the fuel system is running lean. I popped the hood and can hear air rushing into the hose connecting the valve cover to the air intake manifold. The hose is collapsed and cracked sucking air Makes sense, too much air. Any thoughts? The Mazda shop is closed untill Mon. Cheers.

Yeah: Home Hardware or any similar place. Get a piece of thick wall clear PVC tubing, (preferably with the re-enforcing fiber woven into it.)
Check this, but I believe the PCV on the valve cover has the same spigot diameter; if so, yank out the PCV and take it with you so you make the right choice of tube inside diameter. If not, take the old tube, or a piece of it.
If you want to be really professional you can buy a pair of stainless hose clamps while you're at it. Be prepared to pay the princely sum of around $5 for the lot.
This improvised fix will probably outlast a dealer replacement part, so its up to you if you want to stay with the fix I described.
