04 Mazda Tribute starting problem
I have a 2004 Mazda Tribute with 50K miles on it. I have had nothing put electrical problems with it in the past. First it was taillights and dash lights didn't work. Then it was headlights and fog lights didn't work...then nothing worked. They ended up keeping it in the shop for more than 3 weeks. I don't know exactly what they did, something about replaced relays or something, but it worked and I didn't have any problems until now. Now randomly when I go to start my car all my gauges go wacky. My gas gauge stays at empty, my rpm gauge and speedometer go all the way maxed out. Then it drops back to normal. Sometimes it starts when it does this, but most times it doesn't. Most times it makes a clicking noise like my battery is dead. And I have to turn it off and on a few times to get it to start, all the while the gauges are maxed out.
Has anyone had this problem? I thought maybe it could be my battery connections because being that we live right on the ocean its normal for them to corrode and need to be cleaned frequently. But they are good, and that really woundn't explain the gauges.Any help would be appreciated!!!
