1997 626 Blower Motor diagnosis
Hello everyone,
I just bought a 1997 626 4cyl m/t with 60k original miles on it! Needless to say I am very happy with the car.
Shortly after I bought it, the heater fan quit working. I ordered a new blower motor and that did not fix the issue.
I took out the heater slide control and carefully dissembled and tested the tracks inside and found no issues.
I have what I understand to be the resistor out of the car now and I get readings on all pins with my meter but do not know how to test it.
The blower does not work on any speed.
When I turn the a/c on you can hear the compressor engage.
I would appreciate any help with diagnosis.
I also swapped out the fuse with another of equal rating and got nothing.

There is also a blower relay. In the Protege it sits near the pedals. In my protege the switch at the control panel malfunctioned. I sprayed the switch with electronic cleaner and then some heavy silicone (CRC spray cans). My switch works now on the way up but not on the way down. In order to switch from high to medium I need to go from high to off and then to medium.
If you are lucky it is that.
I believe the Haynes manual has the specs to test the blower motor and the resistor.
There are Youtube videos on that too. Most cars are the same in this regard.
