Hey! I'm having an issue with my compressor on my 2005 Mazda 3. Last year, November 2013, my compressor blew out. I ordered a new compressor from Ebay and ordered a new receiver drier and expansion valve from a local parts place. I got it installed and when i received my car back from the mechanic, he made sure my A/C was working properly before he handed it back to me. When it started to become hot this year, April 2014, i turned on my A/C and it was blowing out hot air! :/ I took it back in and they stated i had a "Freon leak" in one of my hoses. I replaced the hose and refilled the Freon. Now in June, it started doing it again, blowing out hot air. I took it into a dealership this time and they stated it was my compressor that was defective and it was leaking the Freon (not my hoses). Moral of this story and my question is.. I'm getting a new compressor (again) since the first one was defective, do i need to get a new receiver drier AND expansion valve for the new compressor?? Even though i didn't use my A/C throughout all of winter, up until April of this year? And they are still fairly new, not even a year old? Or did the defective compressor mess up the new receiver drier and expansion valve as well?? Please help me out! Thank you!!
