2010 Mazda 3
A couple times now our Mazda 3 has exhibited a driveline jerking issue and then codes P0753, "Shift Solenoid A". Each time, turning off the engine and then restarting, shifting returns to normal but the check engine light stays on. I've reset the code thinking it was just a fluke but now that it has resurfaced my plan is to drop the pan, change the oil and filter and also ohm out the shifting solenoids. My question is which solenoid is solenoid "A" ? What resistance should I see through the coil of the solenoid? Any further advice would be greatly appreciated. This is my daughters vehicle and I expect if the filter and oil change do not remedy the issue, she will trade for something new.

All solenoid coils measure within spec. The oil looked a little discolored but not burnt. No major metal in the pan just fuzzy fines on the magnet. Filter was dirty. What is the sensor thing that plugs into the filter? Temperature sensor? Car still goes into limp mode upon start up in the morning. After setting a bit and restarting, it shifts fine but still holds the code P0753. Dealer wants $130 just to do a diagnosis. I was wondering if temperature had something to do with it. I had a old Toyota four runner that would not shift into OD until the coolant temp reached a specific temp.

Hey There
I know it’s been a while since you've posted this thread but I was hoping I could get an update on the situation. I’m driving my girlfriends car and the same issue has been here, if I could get any information in what I can to do fix it it would be greatly appreciated.
