2013 CX-5 engine locked
Hi guys, I hope everyone has been well.
I'm running into an issue with our family's CX-5 and I can't seem to figure out what's happening. My father apparently did something to trigger the security mechanisms within the vehicle and now we can't get it to start. The fob and the spare don't seem responsive at all, the lock or unlock buttons do nothing. The driver door opening will cause a steady double beeping sound and every other door closing will trigger a cluster of 5ish beeps. The spare fob isn't recognized within the vehicle at all, and the main fob doesn't start the engine. The fob indicator does turn green when the main fob is in the car, but pressing the brakes and hitting the engine start will do nothing. We've tried to do the emergency start that was explained in the manual but there is no response.
Do you folks have any idea what could be causing this issue? Is it guaranteed to be a security issue or could it be something else? I noticed the battery malfunction light is also on, but I don't see any indication that the problem is power related.
Thank you all for your help, I really appreciate your time.

Try holding the on button down for a bit longer and put the fob on it
The same thing happened to me yesterday minus the beeps. I replaced both keys with new batteries and my car still wouldn't start. So I called RACQ.
He said that he is constantly going to Mazda cars that have this same problem. I therefore believe this is a malfunction in the Mazda cars. I will be calling or emailing them tomorrow. In the meantime just hold the power button down a little bit longer and wave the fob over it at the same this. Goodluck!
