'94 626 A/C PROBLEMS
I HAVE A 1994 626 WITH A 2.0 DOHC. MY A/C IS WORKING FINE BUT IS BLOWING OUT OF ALL THE VENTS WHEN I TURN IT ON (DEFROSTER, FLOOR, DASH VENTS) AT THE SAME TIME, WHEN THE VENT BUTTON IS THE ONLY ONE ON. SOMEBODY TOLD ME I MIGHT HAVE A VACUUM LINE DISCONNECTED SOMEWHERE, BUT I LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND COULDN'T FIN ONE. COULD THIS BE MY PROBLEM AND WHERE WOULD I FIND THESE VACUUM LINES?

FIRST; MAZDA USES ELECTRIC ACTUATORS ON YOUR MODEL:
NEXT ; THE AIRFLOW MODE ACTUATOR IS LOCATED ON DRIVER'S SIDE JUST AHEAD OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL.
THE ACTUATOR IS A RECTANGULAR BOX MOUNT TO THE HEATER CASE BY TWO SCREWS; BEHIND IT IS A WHITE
PLASTIC CIRCULAR DISC WITH GROOVES IN WHICH THE AIRFLOW MODE DOOR ADJUSTING ARMS CONNECT.
FIRST TEST: WHILE WATCHING THE CIRCULAR DISC, ACTIVATE AIRFLOW BUTTONS TO SEE IF IT MOVES.
SECOND TEST: IF IT DOES NOT MOVE; REMOVE THE TWO MOUNTING SCREWS AND TRY ROTATE BY HAND.
IF IT DOES NOT MOVE: EITHER THE ADJUSTING ARMS OR AIRFLOW DOOR INSIDE THE HEATER CASE ARE STRUCK.
IF YOU CAN MOVE IT AND GET CORRECT AIRFLOW, YOUR PROBLEM IS IN EITHER THE AIRFLOW ACTUATOR OR THE
HEATER CONTROL UNIT. THERE ARE ELECTRICAL TESTS AND CHECK FOR THE AIRFLW ACTUATOR, DEALER SHOULD
HAVE THIS INFO.
WARNING: IF PROBLEM ENDS UP INSIDE THE HEATER CASE; BE FORWARNED THAT IT IS THE FIRST PART THEIR
PUT IN THE CAR AFTER THE PAINT DRIES!
