i don't know, but you are definitely not alone. just about every mazda that i have driven from 92-99 had either a flashing airbag light or an airbag light that just stayed lit. i would ask the stealership what they know about it. in GM's, a flashing light means that there is a short that may not allow the airbag to deploy and a lit airbag light means that it is a failing device altogether.
