Does Pandora automatically connect/open?
I see that newer Mazda Connect systems have the Pandora app, and I know that to use it the Pandora app needs to be on my phone and my phone needs to be paired with Bluetooth to the car.
But do I need to manually start the Pandora app on my phone to use it with the built in infotainment Mazda Connect system? Or can I literally leave the phone in my pocket, get in the car and tap Pandora on the infotainment screen which will then launch the app on my phone (and remain in my pocket, never needing to take it out)?
Thanks!

Try it either way. Mazda released a bulletin not to long ago that advised Mazda dealers when Pandora upgraded to Ver7.0, it played heck with Mazda Connect. This error in connection is Pandora's bad, not Mazda's. If you have problems connecting, contact Pandora via Email and they can direct you to a fix. so I've been told
You should still be able to use Pandora thru Bluetooth reguardless.

Thanks for the info Sparky202. I don't actually have a Mazda yet, but I'm in the market for a car and Pandora (or other internet radio) that is easily accessed (don't have to fiddle with the phone, it "just works" once set up) is high on my desire list.

yes it does.
aside from the hiccups from the new released Pandora update, my CX-5 when started opens up my Pandora app and launches it without taking the phone out of my pocket as long as the Pandora audio source was the last used audio source. if it wasn't, as soon as you select it gets the app permissions to open the app. so either way yes it does. haha
its a great little feature.
