Electronic handbrake not releasing
Hello
I bought a Mazda CX30 in March. It's not been used much recently with the lockdown but has been out at least once a week.
A few days ago, I collected my partner from work to take him to an appointment - I tried to drive off with him and nothing happened! I thought maybe I hadn't pressed the handbrake button all the way - tried again; still stayed on.
Switched car on and off - still wouldn't release.
After a bit of faffing about and pushing the brake and clutch, it released. This was on a horizontal road.
All fine for about 15 minutes and the same happened. Again on a flat road.
So, my question is:
Has anyone experienced this? And, if so, how was it resolved?
Have I been a dumb female and hit some button accidentally that has stopped it releasing? I don't think this is the case but you never know
Of course, the garage I bought it from is shut down at the moment so I can't speak to them.
Any help greatly appreciated - thank you!

Is your a car, manual or automatic?
If manual - it be interesting to know if it will only allow you to use the Electronic Handbrake in gear 1 or neutral.
If auto - I would test the handbrake when it is in neutral / park and see if it engages properly then.
I would assume that the electronic handbrake would not activate while in D / S transmission.
See how it goes with the above and let us know further details after trying the above.

Hi
It's manual. Sorry, when you say 'allow you to use' do you mean allow me to release? (Sorry if I'm misunderstanding.) In which case, I'd put it into first gear when it wouldn't release. I've had the car out for half an hour since then and it didn't play up. I'm wondering if it's an issue because the car is hardly being used at the moment with the lockdown?
Thank you for getting in touch.
