Are GPS/NAV map updates worth it?

Are GPS/NAV map updates worth it?
We have a 2010 CX-9 with the factory-installed Denso gps/nav system. I'm guessing the map release version is 2009 (haven't checked). Mazda offers an upgrade to the "2014" map release (both east and west DVD's) for $199. Question: Those of you who have updated their map DVD's. Was it worth it?
