headlights not bright
The headlights on my 1996 323f mazda are not very bright. the lights have two bulbs one for dipped and another for high beam. the headlights are the smaller of the two. located in a small spot lights. the full beam is located in the larger of the lights. This seems to be the wrong way around. surely the larger would be the headlight (dipped beam) and the small spotlights for full beam. I only noticed this when a bulb blew. the bulbs and wire cannot be changed around. so i think that this is how it should be. I found the headlights don't light up more than a few yard in front of the car. is this normal???

Hi there, Firstly are your vehicles Engines 4 cylinder or V6?
IF they are V6 they could have a fault with the E.C.M feed White and Red wire or an Earth fault .
I would recommend that you find the nearest earth lead and give it good clean and make sure it is making good contact with the vehicle body high resistence causes low light to be emmited from the bulb.
Also are the bulbs fitted in your vehicle 55w or 60w bulbs?
No known faults of headlight brightness but if you can try and compare the light of your headlights with another mazda 323.
The setup of the little spot light being the head light is correct.
The relay shouldnt really effect the brightness but HEY anything is possible , try replacing it with another relay see if it makes any difference.
