Intermittent Starting Problem 94 mx5 1.8
HELP !!!!! Please
I have a 1994 mazda miata mx5 that has developed an intermittent starting and running problem....sometimes it starts and runs fine for days and then all of a sudden will die and will not restart for days.....was told by mechanic at shop it would be $700 to replace fuel pump....i got the pump for $135 and replaced it myself in about 15 minutes....replcaed fuel filter it still has same problem.......ANY IDEAS Folks...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

almost forgot
I Have also replaced the camshaft position sensor.....which the mechanic said was the problem in the first place....he also stated that the tach was shorting out and disconnected that as well....problem stopped happening....well for a couple months and is happening again

HI. If you haven't done it recently, pelpace the plugs and wires. It's a common area for Miata's to have trouble. Then, try locating ALL of the chassis grounds and make sure they are clean and TIGHT!! Give it a shot and report back. You can also (if you're not already a member) check out miata.net. Lots of VERY knowlegable people there.
