Issue with FOB for my 2006 Mazda 3
I bought a brand new 2007 Mazda 3 about a year ago from the dealer and just realized that my keyless FOB doesn't work like it's supposed to.
According to the users manual, if you push the lock or unlock once (doesnt matter which), only the flashers should go off and you should not hear a chirp of the horn. Only on the 2nd press of the lock / unlock button should the flashers and a horn chirp happen.
With my FOB (standard issued FOB from dealer, grey lock button, grey unlock button and red alert button), i get the flashers and the horn chirp on the first button push. it'd be fine with me if my horn sounded cool but it's a pretty dorky horn so i've been trying forever to get it fixed.
i know how to reprogram the remotes and that didn't solve the problem. i was told to take it to the dealer and have them look at it but every time i go to the dealer i'm either in a 3 hour wait or they aren't open.
does anyone know how to make it so i only hear a chirp after the 2nd button push for the lock or unlock button?
