Default Leather Seat Cover Shrinking

Hi All:
Has anyone seen the leather seat cover of a bucket seat shrinking?

My wife has 2015 Mazda 3 with leather covered bucket seats. The leather seat cover on the butt portion of the passenger seat has shrunk dramatically. The leather on the front has shrunk enough that the front edge is now covered by the cloth material which, in turn, can no longer be attached to the clips under the seat. The shrinkage of the leather is even compressing the foam seat cushion itself.

An auto interior shop told me that the only option is to buy a replacement cover from Mazda, for about $400, and pay another $250 for the labor of changing the cover.

The driver’s seat is fine.

I can’t believe that I’m the only one that’s has this problem. I apologize if this has been covered previously but all of my searching hasn’t turned up anything.,

Thanks for any help you all can provide.
