Default Mazda 3 Rear Tire Wear

Mazda 3's eat rear tires! 2 sets in 25k miles. Negative camber kills them! Wish there was an energetic lawyer ready for a class action suit!

Apparently no good solution. My Mazda will become a Subaru this weekend! NEVER AGAIN another Mazda!

Tell your friends to AVOID the 3. Great car to drive.....but!!!!!

How many sites are you going to post this exact same message on?

FWIW, I have 23,000 miles on one set of tires and they still look virtually new.

All 4 tires on my original set were worn straight across evenly, regular rotations fix the uneven wear problem.
Now lets talk about tire wear on your new Subaru, my sisters ate tires for lunch, so bad that the computer would not engage the 4 wheel drive. Also you wore out 2 sets in the rear only, go ahead and blame that on the car and not the owner neglecting to do scheduled Maintenance, sounds like you might have forgot to rotate them.
BTW my second set of tires on my MZ3 are wearing straight across evenly also, and it is even lowered now with almost 23,000 miles on the second set of tires. Did I mention that I do Rotate every oil change, or did you forget to do those also.

Geez, I don't even do that, I'm lucky if I get around to rotating every fifteen to twenty thousand miles.

My brother has a 2005 MZ3 5 door, he went until 10,000 on his original GoodYears before he rotated them and they were gone at 18,000. I got 23,000 out of my first set, no uneven wear, he rotates his at 10,000 and his are worn on the inner edge, and he is on his 3rd set of tires now. He looked at mine and was amazed at the even wear, only difference is I rotate Religiously when I do Oil Changes.

Even w/regular rotation, usually around every 5-6k miles for me, I do have a slight outward crown on the rears. When measured, there is usually between 1/32 - 2/32" difference between the inner most tread and the outer most... hardly anything to get upset about.
