Mazda 6 2.0 Petrol Clutch advice
I just bought a 2004 2.0 (petrol) TS2 Mazda 6 with 87,000 miles on the clock.
I have noticed that the clutch is slipping in the morning when cold, and after some online research, it seems to be a very common problem.
Its only slipping in 1st gear when taking off, it doesnt slip in any other gear and after it warms up it is fine.
I am just wondering what you guys recommend that I should do?
Should I leave it or get it replaced?
If I leave it, will it get worse?
And if I get it replaced, will it be necessary to replace the dual mass flywheel while am at it?

Havnt tried that.
Would that cause it to slip when cold?
Is there definitely no dual mass flywheel in the 2.0 petrol?
That would be great if there wasnt, as I got a price for a new clutch for 200 euro, which wouldnt be too bad, even if it had to be changed..

Hi there im 100% sure that the petrol model doesnt have a duel mass fly wheel only diesel engines on the mazda range have those. Does the clutch pedal feel different to normal ? Im not sure if bleeding the clutch cylinder will help but it could be worth a try beofre you go removing the gearbox. Have you got any oil leaks around the engine/ gearbox? It may just be that you need a new clutch kit. ( Release bearing , clutch cover and plate) Replace all 3 .

Thanks for that, thats a relief to know that there is no dual mass flywheel.
The clutch pedal feels perfectly fine, not spongy or anything or as if any air in the system, and there is no oil leaking anywhere.
I will probably just go ahead and get a clutch kit for the car and replace it.
