Mazda question from a Volvo addict.
Hello, came here to ask a question. Figured Mazda guys would no better than anyone. I drive a '68 Volvo Amazon wagon, previous owner did a swap of the alternator from an externally regulated Bosch unit, to an internally regulated Delco (one of the most common in the world). Problem is, these big GM alternators are just that, BIG and it barely fits on the rather dainty mount the PO fabbed up for it. And it rattles all to hell.
Anyone know what kindof car might have a small internally regulated alternator?
(maybe a 1st gen RX7, I dunno, are those internal regulated, or external)

Hmmm. A 122S, huh? 'Don't see too many of them around anymore, but I worked on many (M~A~N~Y~!!) of them. Still have the ole' B18B in there or have you upgraded?
As a former Volvo addict myself (1800's, 144S, more 1800's,) I wish I could help, but don't know for sure.
We used to do a swap like that one too some time ago. Perhaps we made our own mounts, but I really can't remember? Seems we used an old 55-60amp alternator then and it had plenty of juice for the car and while bigger and shorter than the 30amp generator, wasn't THAT hard to mount.

Wha!! That's pretty cool!!
One of the first 122s I worked on we were rebuilding for a customer. It was a 65 or 66 4dr and because of the gray original paint we used to restore it, it earned the nickname the Gray Ghost around the shop and later to the customer too. I'll always remember that, if not totally original.
Have you looked into IPD for a concversion kit of some kind? Perhaps send them a customer queary? Or, how about using a later model Volvo Bosch alternator and bracket? Something from a B20 or B21 engine should fit.
