Hi, it's been a while since I had this "ERR" problem with my Mazda 3 which came about after taking the battery off to charge it. I've just had to replace the original battery after 11 years! can you believe it! This time I put on a old back up battery while I went for the new one and then took it off again and fitted the new battery! Guess what? No error message at all! Nothing, just lost the preset stations that's all! I'm thinking that if you don't leave the battery disconnected for too long, and fit another straight away, you may not get this problem.

Default HELP: Mazda Tribute 2006 Radio Code

Step one:- press one at a time- preset 6, AM, Auto M, Seek ^ (up).
Step Two:-Input this number, 4989.
Step Three:- Press and hold Auto M and Preset 6 together.
Step Four:- The Word 'GOOD' will appear on the screen indicated that the radio will work.
Step Five:- Reprogram new Antitheft code into radio as per instruction manual.

Hi,

I have been searching within the forum for quite some time and would really need help in figuring out which buttons to press.
The post has the the buttons preset 6, AM, Auto M, Seek ^ (up) swhich are not present on our radio,
Attached is the picture of the schematics that we have.

Please advise on what are the counterparts of these buttons.

Thanks a lot!

I got error after trying 3 wrong codes. Now I am trying to enter your 4989 but unfortunately the combination 6, AM, Auto M, Seek^ Up is not showing me the ---- to enter the code 4989.

Even though I pressed the combinations it is flashing Err.

Can you please help me to enter the code 4989.

I have the same problem. I've tried the 6, AM, Auto M, Seek Up combination and the hold power button and AM for ten seconds suggestion but nothing happens. Err just keeps flashing. Any other options?
