Hi, it's been a while since I had this "ERR" problem with my Mazda 3 which came about after taking the battery off to charge it. I've just had to replace the original battery after 11 years! can you believe it! This time I put on a old back up battery while I went for the new one and then took it off again and fitted the new battery! Guess what? No error message at all! Nothing, just lost the preset stations that's all! I'm thinking that if you don't leave the battery disconnected for too long, and fit another straight away, you may not get this problem.
