Default MX-5 anti-theft problem

I am a new '96 MX-5 Miata owner, and I believe that there is an aftermarket anti-theft system installed on it. When I replaced the battery, the system activated I think, and now I cannot start the car. Does anybody have any idea what is going on, and how to get my car running? Thanks for the help.

Tough to say. Try to figure out what brand you have, then see if anyone local deals with that brand. They all seem to work a little different.

I'd recommend you find the whole system and pull it out. I don't personally like those things (remote starters either) for the main reason that they cause all kinds of wiring gremlins that are very difficult to track down.
