Default MX-5 Limited Slip Diff Compatibility

Hi,

I have a problem with my 2005 MX-5 (the limited slip diff needs replacing). I've found a potential replacement available on ebay, although this is from an imported K reg Mx-5.

Anyone know if this is likely to still be compatible? Any help would be gratefully received.

Neil

it SHOULD be a direct bolt-up. don't take my word for it (don't blame if it doesn't fit)

one of two options here;
1. buy the diff and try to make it fit
2. do more searching.

personally, i don't see any reason why it wouldn't work but i don't want to be the one responsible for you losing money here. you may need the entire diff (case, diff, mounts, etc) to make it work, so that would be the best bet if you decide to throw caution in the wind.

i hope that i have been specific enough to help but ambiguous enough to waive liability. lol.

I assume since you referred to the donor car as a "regular" MX5 that you have a Speed?
Why not just rebuild your current set-up?
If like the MSP's the diff is known to break the welds under high stress, you could then have the center section and outer hub pinned or welded for more strengh in the future?

Do you know what kind of LSD your car has... I mean what type (clutch, cone or gear,) brand, model, etc?
